Brahmi is anti-thrombotic and cardio-protective. It stimulates thyroid gland in hypothyroidism. It is immuno-stimulant(rasayana). It evokes a gene-expression response for wound healing and microangiopathy. It is anti-oxidant and useful in various venous and arterial problems. It stabilizes hypoechoic, low-density plaques and remodels echolucent plaques by remodeling collagen synthesis. It is useful in diabetic microangiopathy by improving microcirculation and decreasing capillary permeability. In an experimental study, a dose (100-1000mg/kg) dependent reduction in percent left ventricle necrosis (PLVN) as well as in lipid peroxide levels was observed in rats treated with alcohoic extract of Hydrocotyle asiatica orally for 7 days compared to control animals. The study strongly suggests the cardioprotective activity of Hydrocotyle asiastca in limiting ischemia-reperfusion induced myocardial injury. Brahmi is also known as Hydrocotyle asiatica.
Arjuna is anti-ischemic, anti-anginal, cardio-protective, negative dromotropic, hypolipidemic, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. It increases coronary artery blood flow and protects myocardium against ischemic damage. In addition, it is mild diuretic, anti-thrombotic, and prostaglandin E(2) enhancer. It reduces left ventricular mass, increases left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), and reverses impaired endothelial function. Arjuna is also known as Terminalia arjuna.
Pushkarmula is negative inotropic and negative chronotropic. It increases coronary artery blood flow, prevents and corrects myocardial ischemia, protects myocardium against ischemic damage, has adrenergic beta-blocking activity, and lowers diastolic BP. It relieves chest pain / angina and dyspnea. Pushkarmula is also known as Inula racemosa.
To be used under the supervision of a qualified medical practitioner.
